Resuming our Meet the Team Series, we got to know more about our Events Manager.

This week, we talked with our Event Manager and travelling enthusiast, Amy Zahara. Amy leads our adventurous spirit from hiking up mountains to snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef.  

After joining us in 2018, Amy dethroned Donna as the fastest typer in the team and became our resident wedding expert in 2022. After getting married, she went on to attend 10 more in the year – in an unbiased opinion, Amy voted her wedding as the favourite.

I’ve been at Veritas for almost 4 years now. I look after the logistics of our client’s events, from initial concepts all the way through to running around in my blacks on the day! 

I love that we are all willing to jump in and help each other out when needed. Production, logistics, sales, digital, it doesn’t matter – we’re all one team, one dream! 

I actually have my dad to thank for introducing me to the events industry. After his company brought on an events agency to organise their conference, he called me up one day and said “I think you would love this!”. I was studying psychology at Uni at the time, but decided I had to check it out! 

Definitely being onsite. I love the adrenaline that comes with show days, and I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places.

I have a next-level organisation system in my house. I make my own labels and have sorted everything in the pantry into aesthetically pleasing jars. I can also speak French! 

Travelling is definitely a big passion of mine, I’m always planning my next trip! I’m off to New Zealand in March, and hopefully Europe next year.

• TV Show – FRIENDS, hands down. I think I’ve seen every episode about 50 times! 
• Song – My current favourite is Flowers by Miley Cyrus, although it changes all the time!

I walk home from the office, usually listening to a podcast, which really helps me to switch off from the day. 

There’s been a real focus lately on sustainable events, which I think is a great thing! From furniture, printing, catering and styling choices, there’s a lot that can be done in this space to have a sustainable event. 

Probably my favourite client event is the 50-Year Celebration we did for Daikin a few years back. I had a real pinch-me moment while watching a live band perform on the roof of a boat in the middle of Sydney Harbour, with the client’s logo lit up in the water next to us and fireworks going off overhead.
