Social responsibility

It has always been part of the Veritas Events Management philosophy to support our community through event sponsorship or by taking direct action in worthy local and international causes.

In 2005 the devastation of the Asia-Pacific Tsunami compelled us to organise a celebrity cricket event in which we raised over $30,000. These proceeds were donated to Starwood hotels in Phuket, who used the money to promote local community rebuilding in the wake of the devastating tsunami.

In 2011, in partnership with Mandarin Oriental hotels we raised over $21,000 for the Queensland Flood Victims. Our event management team created a trip of a lifetime to New York, flights with Qantas, transfers and Broadway show tickets included, staying at the Mandarin Oriental New York, one of the finest hotels in the world. We were humbled to hear that Premier Anna Bligh commended our work. In addition to this, our event management team also supports the Smith Family ‘Learning for Life Program’ and has been an active participant for several years.

More recently, in 2012, Veritas Events supported the Black Dog Institute to create webcasts and other supporting material on a pro bono basis for Blackdog and their work in the areas of depression and bipolar disease. In Australia each year around 1,000,000 adults and 100,000 young people live with depression. More than 50% will not seek treatment. We proudy support the Black Dog Institute, a not-for-profit, educational, research and community orientated facility, offering specialist expertise in depression and bipolar disorder.

'Everyone knows someone who suffers from depression. We believe in taking an active role in enhancing the Black Dog Institute's work and research in these serious conditions' Eugene Kennedy, CEO – Veritas Events

We believe that we can use our expertise and experience in event management to enact positive social change and promote healthy values both in Australia and abroad.
