Corporate Team Building Exercise - Flip Video

Veritas recently managed a unique event where we created a Flip Video Activity for a teambuilding session within the main conference: www.theflip.com/en-au We divided the group of 90 into 9 teams of 10 and presented each team with a flip. They were all given a prop, a theme and 30 minutes in which to film a 30 second video. Given the short amount of time to prepare, the teams had to come up with a punchy and entertaining video, supporting their company values. Once finished each team captain handed their video to our audio-visual production team who uploaded them to a MacBook Pro for viewing on the big screen. All the teams put in a great effort, the videos were fantastic, well thought-out and very funny. And importantly for Veritas as the event managers, it re-enforced the culture of our client to their employees. At the end of the event, the winning team members each received a flip camera to take home.

Glitz and Glamour at new Sydney venue

Gala Dinner at Sargeants MessPart of my key role as an event producer at Veritas is event theming and entertainment. I was responsible for the theming and management of entertainment at the Lenovo LEC Gala Dinner held at Sergeants Mess, Chowder Bay (www.sergeantsmess.com.au)last week. The venue was already so beautiful that my plan was to enhance the existing dcor and surrounding water views rather than try to outdo them. The owners of Sergeants Mess have done an excellent job at designing a fantastic events space - a large pre-function area and wrap-around balcony for pre-dinner drinks along with a large open room featuring high ceilings with built in audio-visual facilities and unobstructed views of Sydney Harbour. The existing furnishings are modern and very now but at the same time there is a subtle throwback to the days of old when the venue was a mess hall for the Navy. The table theming consisted of three glass vases of varying heights and sizes filled with small white roses set on a mirrored base and surrounded in tea lights. The mirrors radiated the light from the ornate chandeliers overhead, making the entire venue really sparkle. Coloured uplights and special effect gobos were used around the room to further enhance. Martini Club (www.martiniclub.com.au)provided the entertainment for the evening and progressed from jazz in the early stages of the evening to more upbeat music after dessert, beckoning the delegates to leave their seats and hit the dance floor. Sergeants Mess has become one of my new top venues and I look forward to creating a new experience there again in the near future - watch this space!
