The evolution of event management

Many event planners go through their careers reacting to assignments they are given a client, briefed, and asked to pull off a fantastic event. This style of event planning can work well for certain conferences, though it can be a tunnel vision way to approach the event. Lets call this Event Planning 1.0. With the arrival of the GFC several years ago, spending began to be scrutinised and events became the sacrificial lamb. Lavish overseas trips were replaced with low key destinations. Clients needed to be able to demonstrate the return on investment of their corporate events, and show it was adding value to the company- Event Planning 2.0 was born. More recently, this has evolved even further. The really successful event planners (and therefore events) are those that think big picture and with inspiration asking what is the goal of the event? How can we improve year on year? How can we add value and be smarter about what we invest our spending on? Event Planning 3.0 is all about being proactive rather than reactive, and creating unique corporate events. Here at Veritas, this is what our event planners are all about! To discuss how a corporate event can add value to your company, talk to Kieran viaKieran.kennedy@veritas.com.auor call him on 02 8908 560.
